So painfully true, as we look all around us. And not only watching the world wide contamination and warping of the sacrament of marriage, but the poisonous seeds growing within Christian families that seem so secure in faith and surrounded by community. One after the other, I receive requests for prayer from people I never thought would have marital problems. One of the spouses suddenly becomes ''someone else" an unrecognizable being, while the other watches the whole marriage, children in tow, spiraling towards the abyss . Praying and despairing at times about this. Satan attacks bluntly, but sometimes the most destructive attack is when he subtly insinuates himself and takes control of your so well guarded citadel, your own Christian marriage. So much to pray for ...
Just today I heard in the news that only 22% of marriages take place at church in Spain. Spain! That means Christianity will be only a far memory in a few more years, because the children being born today will never hear the sweet name of Jesus at home. Only a few mothers will teach them how to pray. No knowledge of the real Christmas story or Easter. Very little knowledge of the reasons behind the big cathedrals in Europe. This is so sad.

ReplyDeleteYes, there IS so much to pray for, and it is what we can do as we watch the craziness all around. I am praying with you.
