This is the second post I'm reading today on giving thanks, and it's telling because I don't live in the States, where Thanksgiving is due to be celebrated. This is what I'd call an Angel's whisper on a wind chime.... a whisper to remind me to give thanks. And I'll begin by thanking you, Nancy, for this beautifully illustrated reminder. Happy Thanksgiving <3
ReplyDelete"An angel's whisper on a wind chime..." I love that! Thanks so much :)
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving Nancy!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Don. Even though the 'day' has passed as I write this, I know you're still celebrating the goodness of God.
DeleteA blessed Advent to you and your family!
I knew I could count on you, Nancy, to post beautiful pictures of the Thanksgiving days I remember. I am blessed this day to be celebrating the feast day at one of my nieces' homes, where probably 30 friends and relatives will gather. It resembles the above picture in a way, but a bit updated for the diversity of families these days --- where in fact families exist. One of the things my niece does is require everyone to put away their cell phones for the entire day --- Thanksgiving is for family, only. I admire her.
ReplyDeleteI offer you some really well-written words on the subject of gratitude this day (not mine, of course). Msgr Pope writes at: blog.adw.org, and has a beautiful meditation on the gift of gratitude. I'll be taking his thoughts with me to church in a few minutes.
Blessings to you this day, and all yours.
I admire your niece, too! I was once at someone's home for dinner and found it so strange when, after the meal, people pulled out their phones and forgot all about each other. I guess I'd thought that only happened in cartoons.
DeleteThank you for the recommendation of Msgr. Pope's meditation! I always appreciate his insights.
Blessings to you and yours also!
A blessed Advent to you also Nancy.
ReplyDeleteMay we prepare ourselves in this penitential season of Advent, for the coming of the King of Kings on Christmas day.
Thanks so much for your beautiful site.
