Where The Soul Lives

  1. I wish my church looked like this or similar. But you know, it was built in the 70's. 'Nuff said. Sigh.

    1. Oh yes, Aileen, I know how this is. Most of the churches in my area were built in the '70s. A friend of mine is currently in Europe, and has sent photos of gorgeous statues in little Catholic churches. These are not just beautiful - they are truly inspiring. Having known what it can mean to gaze upon inspiring, holy artwork (the church of my youth was filled with it, but it was removed decades ago and replaced by.... nothing), I find myself positively aching at times. 'Nuff said by me, too! :) Sigh....

  2. Nancy, I understand that some new church buildings are beginning to be done in the older, more reverent style. I hope so! Our church did have a new little chapel addition built not too long ago where daily Mass is held and it's a little more old style. I like it better than the main sanctuary.
